Born in New Zealand, I originally had a successful career in business and the fashion world. While on holiday in Indonesia in the early 1980’s I discovered natural medicine and was inspired to self study Chinese medicine, herbal medicine, meditation and the Chinese martial art of tai Chi. Next followed seven years of tertiary studies in Australia in Traditional Chinese Medicine, myotherapy, and a wide range of massage and bodyworks techniques.
Graduating in 1989 after 2,300 hours of myotherapy training, I was in private practice until 2018 in a variety of settings including medical centres, the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Canberra, and home based as well as clinic based practices. Since 1998 I have enjoyed the rewards of passing on that knowledge so generously shared with me by others, by combining my clinical practice with teaching at a number of tertiary institutes in broad areas of health science, Chinese medicine, natural medicine, and business.
My passion is helping clients remove pain and dysfunction from their lives from my lived experiences of chronic pain, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, osteoporosis, and nervous illnesses. I strive to find the cause of your pain, not just treat your symptoms. At your initial consultation I will take time to listen to your story and act the detective in picking up small clues that you will give me that often leads to establishing the underlying cause of your pain, so I can work to eliminate that cause and not just treat the symptoms.
